Fribourg. Then Montreal, Chicago in pandemic mode, the raw energy of New York, then back to neutral Helvetia. When inner and outer geographies become one.

I’m pleased to announce the release of 2 new Cat’s Eye albums. This Must Be the Place on September 12 and The Trick Is to Keep Playing on September 26.

The first is a collection of folk rock and rock.

There’s that wonderful adventure to Chicago with the legendary Steve Albini, with Ben and Yuval, forming a 24-carat gold-plated rhythm section. And Albini, who records both the instruments and the space around them.

There’s also all this work in my personal studio. The sessions with Pascal Wagner-Egger, who knows how to give Cat’s Eye’s music the ideal rhythm and sound textures.

The Trick Is to Keep Playing is the adventurous rock second album. Ambient echoes, the structures sometimes slip out from underfoot to surprise, but always with an intimate, almost romantic coherence. Gerry Leonard (Bowie, Suzanne Vega) is once again on board.

Twenty new songs. Excerpts to be discovered soon.
